The Maryland Symphony Orchestra Youth Concerts are held each May at the Maryland Theatre. Public, private and home-schooled fourth graders from across the quad-state region are treated to a free performance designed especially for them, highlighted by remarks from Elizabeth Schulze, MSO Music Director.

The Maryland Symphony Orchestra Guild distributes lesson plans and student guides to fourth grade teachers, for use in preparing students for the concert by familiarizing them with the music to be played, the composers, the instruments of the orchestra and even concert etiquette.

The MSO is most appreciative of its special partnership with the Washington County Board of Education in bringing music education programs and initiatives to the students of Washington County, MD. The MSO also greatly acknowledges all of our music education partners: Citi, the Washington County Board of County Commissioners, the City of Hagerstown, Hagerstown Community College, Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Maryland State Arts Council, The Rotary Club of Hagerstown, The Rotary Club of Long Meadows Foundation, Washington County Gaming Commission, Delaplaine Foundation, PNC Foundation, Rotary Club of Carroll Creek, Target, Washington County Arts Council and the Maryland Symphony Orchestra Guild.
